Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.

Music Is My Inspiration ContestWell guys I've decided to start my own contest, because I had awesome feedback on the idea ^_^
It'll be my first contest that I've held...EVER! So it's very exciting :3

'Tis The Season, Deck The Halls, & Be Jolly bla,bla,bla,bla,bla,bla,bla

Finals this week, can't get any better than that.
2 more days of school!
The hammer is coming down fast, I probably should be studying or something right now.
Making snow globes in chemistry, mine has an angel glued to the top of a baby food container (not cute, long story).
Just found out yesterday that I have to read a book over winter break for my english class.
I decided I would pick the most retarded sounding book on the list so I chose Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs: A Low Culture Manifesto by Chuck Klosterman, I hear it's funny.
I'm also going to read Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut.
Errrm, yeah. No Christmas tree yet, because of the horrible remodeling we are doing to the lover half of our house.
I guess we are going to have one by the 22nd which is lame, but still long awaited and satisfying.
I have no money right now and I don't know if I'm going to be able to buy gifts for everyone, however I am going to make cookies so that should make up the difference.
I can sing Jingle Bells in french. It's pretty simple, although the words are completely different that the english version.
I'm going to go caroling to Leanna's house and sing it to her.
Journalism is going pretty good, a few of my photos are going to be in the art section... yay!
No new art, sorry.
I'm so not feeling the holiday's right now.. I think I should get done with school first.
